Final Presentations Guidelines

Each student will give a 12-minute final presentation describing their accomplishments of the research work done during the summer.

  • Time yourself during the rehearsal so that you won't need more than the allotted 12 minutes. If you are running beyond 12 minutes, you will be asked to finish your presentation. There will be an additional 3 minutes for Q&A.

  • The presentation should be aimed at SUNFEST students and their advisors.

  • The following items should be covered:

    • Introduction and some background material on your project

    • Goal of the project

    • Discussion of what you have done and the methods used

    • Results

    • Summary and discussion

  • Plan for about 12 to 14 slides

  • Your presentation should be in MS PowerPoint (can be MS office 2007). There will be a projector available. You can bring your presentation with you on a memory stick or put your presentation in your SEAS (ENIAC) directory so that you can access it over the net. Name your presentation as: LastName.ppt. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the Symposium, so that you can put your presenation on the PC and try it out.

  • The slides should mention: Sunfest, University of Pennsylvania, the name of your advisor, and optional the name of the Lab; acknowledge NSF for their support.

The powerpoint slides will be made available on the SUNFEST homepage as a way to inform the community about the SUNFEST activities.
