Departmental Minors

Degree minors may be obtained in each of the majors offered by the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MINOR

  • ESE 1120 (Engineering Electromagnetics)
  • ESE 2150 (Electrical Circuits & Systems)
  • ESE 2180 (Electronic, Photonic, and Electromechanical Devices)
  • ESE 2240 (Signal & Info Processing)

SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MINOR

A minor in Systems Engineering consists of the following six courses:

  • ESE 2100 (Modeling of Dynamic Systems)
  • ESE 2240 (Signal & Info Processing)
  • ESE 3030 (Analysis & Simulation of Stochastic Systems)
  • ESE 3040 (Introduction to Optimization)
  • One Information Systems Elective from most recent SSE CPG
  • A second Information Systems Elective or one Systems Design Elective from most recent SSE CPG

The Systems Engineering Minor will be sunsetted for the 2026-27 Academic Year. This means students will be unable to declare this program starting Fall 2026 and onwards.
