1 For specialization electives, students should preferably elect advanced ESE courses building upon their area course selections.
2 At most, one freshman-level E course may be used as a technical elective (Exceptions CIS 112, CIS 120 and CIS 121 may be taken without constraint). Dual-degree students with a second major outside engineering, mathematics, or natural science may use up to two courses from their second degree to satisfy the requirements in the Technical Elective category.
3 Three of the courses in the SSH column must satisfy the depth, writing, and ethics requirements. Courses that satisfy the Ethics requirement include: BE 303/EAS 303 and, via petition -- LGST 210, LGST 220, SM 920, PHIL 002, PHIL 079, PHIL 372 and PHIL 472.
